Our Story

Since April 2009

The House of Fish is the brain child of owner Danny Hayes, a native of Hamlet, NC. Danny, an accountant by trade, moved back to Richmond County to help his mom while she battled cancer. Instead of looking for a 9-5 job, Danny wanted to do something that he enjoyed and showcase his entrepreneurial spirit.

The decision was easy; he would open a restaurant so the world could enjoy fresh, made to order seafood. On April 20, 2009, The House of Fish opened its doors in Rockingham, NC. After 4 years of business the decision was made to bring that same great food and service to the Moore County/Pinehurst area. On June 5, 2014, the doors opened at its current location in Aberdeen.

The House of Fish

An unassuming cinder-block building in Moore County proves to be the perfect stage for one chef’s take on “classic American soulful seafood” — and plenty of his star power.

" Dined in at their new location. This is the best seafood that I’ve had down here. Multiple ways to have your fish, scallops, shrimp and oysters cooked and they have their own special sauce. I got their Crab Cake Dinner and it was on point!!! "
